چکیده
We present a technique which permits the calculation of two-point functions of operators containing one heavy quark and an arbitrary number of light quarks as analytic functions of the heavy-quark mass. It is based on the standard Jacobi linear solver used for the calculation of quark propagators. Results for the heavy-light pseudoscalar and vector meson masses are obtained on 16 3 × 48 lattices at β = 6.2 using the Wilson fermion action, and agree with published data. The incorporation of smeared operators and O(a)-improved actions presents no problems.

Motivated by the recent experimental observations, we discuss the freeze-out properties of the fireball created in central heavy ion collisions. We find that the freeze-out conditions, like temperature, velocity gradient near center of the fireball, are similar for different colliding systems and beam energies. This means that the transverse flow is stronger in the collisions of heavy nuclei th...

Linked cluster expansions are generalized from an infinite to a finite volume on a d-dimensional hypercubic lattice. They are performed to 20th order in the expansion parameter to investigate the phase structure of scalar O(N) models for the cases of N = 1 and N = 4 in 3 dimensions. In particular we propose a new criterion to distinguish first from second order transitions via the volume depend...

We study leptonic and semi-leptonic decays of D and B mesons. Use of the Hopping Parameter Expansion (HPE) for two-point functions allows us continuously to vary the pseudoscalar mass from below mD up towards mB. We compute the pseudoscalar decay constants fD and fB, and observe consistency with the value calculated in the static limit. From the measurement of three-point functions we compute t...

For a heavy-light meson with a static heavy quark, we can explore the light quark distribution. The charge and matter radial distributions of these heavylight mesons are measured on a 16 × 24 lattice at β = 5.7 and a hopping parameter corresponding to a light quark mass about that of the strange quark. Both distributions can be well fitted up to 4 lattice spacings (r ≈ 0.7 fm) with the exponent...
